Job Full Description
**Job Responsibilities:**
1. **Vehicle Inspection:**
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles or machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, and other issues.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess the condition of engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
2. **Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:**
- Identify and diagnose problems by analyzing symptoms, listening to customer complaints, and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Interpret diagnostic codes from computerized systems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
3. **Repair and Maintenance:**
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Replace or repair faulty parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
4. **Electrical Systems:**
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including wiring problems, battery malfunctions, and electronic component failures.
- Install, repair, or replace electrical components such as starters, alternators, and ignition systems.
5. **Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs, services, and parts used.
- Provide written estimates for repairs and communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their vehicles.
6. **Customer Service:**
- Interact with customers to understand their concerns and explain repair options.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
7. **Safety Compliance:**
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
**Qualifications:**
1. **Education and Training:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal automotive training program or apprenticeship is often preferred.
2. **Experience:**
- Practical experience in automotive or machinery repair.
- Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
3. **Skills:**
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of computerized systems and software used in modern vehicles.
4. **Certifications:**
- Relevant certifications, such as Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications, may be required or preferred.
5. **Physical Stamina:**
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
