Now Hiring: Machine Operators in Columbia – $17.00 - $19.00/hr!
Express Employment is seeking skilled Machine Operators for an exciting opportunity in the Columbia area. This full-time position offers Monday to Friday hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe operation of industrial saws and cutting materials to precise lengths and measurements. The starting pay is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience, with various shift opportunities available.
This is a physically demanding role requiring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will work with high-value inventory, and your ability to measure correctly is key to success. The role requires mechanical aptitude and experience in operating large-scale forklifts and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and sketches to ensure materials are cut to the correct size and length.
- Operate an industrial saw to cut materials to precise measurements.
- Use a forklift and overhead crane to move large materials and load them onto machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance on saw equipment and ensure it is operating efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Input machine operation requirements and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a saw machine operator or in a similar role.
- Experience operating large-scale forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to measure accurately.
- Ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach to operating machinery.
