Job Title: Lube Tech / Apprentice Mechanic
Location: Lexington, SC
Hourly Rate: $20+ per hour, based on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Overtime and Saturdays available; on-call work may be required on weekends in the future)
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Lube Tech / Apprentice Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and inspections on all tractor trailers, ensuring they are operating safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of tractor trailers, including brakes, fluids, lines, lights, and oil changes.
Complete all required paperwork for inspections, ensuring accuracy.
Perform basic repairs on trailers as needed.
Remove tires from rims, replace with new tires, and recycle old tires.
Conduct up to 4 inspections per day, following a detailed checklist.
Perform wheel changeouts, oil changes, electrical light changes, brake changeouts, and fluid checks.
Change tires and break down old tires (physical work required).
Use a computer to document issues, repairs, and parts used.
Requirements:
Must have your own basic tools.
Strong initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks efficiently.
Drug-free (must pass a drug test).
Must be able to provide an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) for future company vehicle driving, with no tickets within the past 3 years and no accidents in the last 5 years.
