Job Full Description
As a Tree Service Groundsman, you will play a crucial role in supporting our tree care operations. You will work closely with our arborists and other crew members to ensure the efficient and safe completion of tree care projects. This entry-level position offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in tree trimming, pruning, and removal operations
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, and other tree care equipment
- Ensure worksite safety by following company and industry safety protocols
- Perform ground-level tasks, including dragging and chipping brush, raking, and cleaning up debris
- Support the climbers by preparing and handling tools and equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of tools and equipment
- Follow instructions from the crew leader and arborist
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs)
- Basic understanding of tree care equipment and operations (preferred)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Safety-conscious with attention to detail
