Job Full Description
We are looking for a skilled Screed Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in road construction. In this role, you will operate screed and other heavy equipment to ensure the proper placement, leveling, and compaction of asphalt during the paving process. You will work closely with the paving crew to achieve quality road surfaces that meet project specifications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the screed and other heavy equipment to ensure the smooth and accurate placement of asphalt on roadways.
- Adjust the screed for the correct depth, material flow, and smoothness to meet project requirements.
- Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Work in coordination with the paving team to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Monitor the quality of work to ensure the surface meets industry standards for compaction and smoothness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating screeds and other heavy equipment in road construction or similar industries.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to make adjustments to the screed for different materials and conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Valid driver’s license.
