Job Full Description
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Roller Operator / Finisher to join our road construction team. In this role, you will operate various types of rollers to ensure proper compaction and smoothness of asphalt and other materials during road paving projects. Your work will directly contribute to the quality and durability of road surfaces, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment, primarily rollers, to compact asphalt and other materials during the paving process.
- Ensure the proper compaction and smoothness of the surface, adjusting roller settings as needed.
- Work closely with the paving crew to maintain project timelines and ensure high-quality results.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all industry standards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to the supervisor for timely repairs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, particularly rollers, in road construction or similar industries.
- Knowledge of compaction techniques, material properties, and equipment operation.
- Ability to adjust roller settings for varying materials and conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring smooth and even surfaces.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license.
