Job Description:
Express Employment Professionals of Dickson and Clarksville are currently seeking reliable, experienced, and efficient candidates for a Claims Payable position to execute freight invoice processing, and may also help resolve “in transit” shipment issues for a company located in Ashland City. This position will pay $18.00 per hour, and candidates must have Accounts Payable and/or Transportation Administration experience. Hours are Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM.
Responsibilities:
- Separates manual invoices for transportation vendors by payee. Organize all daily manual invoice receipts from transportation providers and prepare them for processing.
- Operating in a transportation management system and SAP.
- Monitors and resolve both truckload and less than truckload invoice disputes in TM that are out of tolerance.
- Audits manual invoices, submits them for approvals as necessary prior to processing
- E-mails management and other departments for any required approvals. Ensures approvals and documentation is uploaded in SAP for back up to payment processing.
- Review carrier aged invoice reports, resolving outstanding and still open charges.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Transportation Administration
- Specific freight claims background highly desirable
- Familiarity with SAP / or another TMS system experience is desirable
- Ability to work easily with customers and carriers
- Experience with a formal Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Knowledge of National Motor Freight Carrier (NMFC) claim guidelines
- Excellent reasoning skills
- Impeccable moral character and high ethical standards
- Ability to work / operate independently with minimal oversight, but with focused objectives and the discipline to obtain results
- Competent computer-based skills, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Possess a general understanding of carrier rate structures
- Possess knowledge of general accounting principles
- Strong customer orientation, sense of urgency, and problem resolution skills
- High degree of data entry accuracy
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
