Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Helper
Location: Johnson City, TN
Pay: $13.00 per hour
Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Hotel Maintenance Helper to join our team in Johnson City, TN. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the hotel’s facilities and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests. This role involves performing basic maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and supporting the hotel’s operations to provide excellent guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance:
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, repairing furniture, and painting.
- Perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure that all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, and facilities, are in good working order.

Facility Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and report any issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Help ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in all hotel areas.

Guest Support:
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel guests and staff.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining equipment for special events or hotel functions as needed.

Cleaning and Upkeep:
- Assist with cleaning tasks in the maintenance shop or storage areas.
- Help ensure that the hotel’s exterior and landscaping are well-maintained.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and front desk, to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in larger repair projects and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions for exterior maintenance tasks.
- Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely.
