Job Title: Quality Control Inspector – PCB & Medical Electronics
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector with specialized experience in inspecting Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), PCB assemblies, and FDA-regulated medical electronics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality inspection techniques, with a focus on meeting regulatory standards, ensuring product quality, and supporting the manufacturing of complex electronic components for the medical device industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and verify the quality of printed circuit boards (PCBs), PCB assemblies, and related components to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Perform visual and functional inspections of assembled PCBs, identifying defects such as soldering issues, component placement, and trace integrity.
- Use specialized inspection tools such as microscopes, magnification aids, and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems.
- Ensure all inspection processes are conducted in compliance with FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, and other applicable standards for medical electronics.
- Maintain traceability and documentation for inspections in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Verify that the production of medical devices follows the established quality management systems (QMS) for FDA-regulated environments.
- Document inspection results in a clear and timely manner, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), and provide detailed feedback to production teams.
- Maintain records of all inspection activities, including test results, defects, and corrective actions taken.
- Support the development and revision of inspection procedures and work instructions as needed.
- Identify and report defects, discrepancies, and potential risks during the inspection process.
- Work closely with the engineering and production teams to resolve any identified issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct functional tests of PCB assemblies and medical devices to verify electrical performance and functionality.
- Perform incoming material inspections and ensure all parts and components meet the required specifications before assembly.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in quality control inspection, specifically for PCBs, PCB assemblies, and medical electronics.
- Experience working in FDA-regulated environments (medical device or medical electronics).
- Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, component soldering, and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as microscopes, automated optical inspection (AOI), and multimeters for testing electronic components.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to PCB designs and medical devices.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment for functional verification of electronic assemblies.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
