Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our client McKinney TX. This is a Temp to Hire role with the client needing a long term person. Pay is depending on experience.

As a Maintenance Technician you may be required to perform tasks involved in the upkeep of the hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all production machines, equipment, and other building related

systems. This role requires you to be responsible for the repair and maintenance of building, grounds, and production related systems and equipment in accordance with their respective diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Furthermore, this role requires you be familiar and proficient with maintaining and/or

troubleshooting equipment such as CNC’s, belt sanders, air compressors, grinders, dust collectors and filtration system, conveyors, and building systems such as electrical systems, general ac/heaters, compressors, exhaust fans, etc. Must be proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Ensure increasing customer and employee satisfaction levels while helping improve machine efficiency by minimizing downtime. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow all standards for safety and conduct.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.

•Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment.

•Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment for efficient and safe operation.

•Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairing production and packaging machines and use various maintenance tools.

•Coordinate and install new equipment as necessary and work with other technical support to ensure proper procedures/operation.

•Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and all safety programs, including responsibility for hazardous waste records and disposal.

•Maintain spare parts and maintenance supplies, including ordering and receiving from vendors.

•Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

•Troubleshoot and test machinery.

•Capable of performing minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light fixtures, light bulbs, fuses, light switches, receptacles.

•Assists in minor building related carpentry and repair work.

•Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

•General Competent Mechanical aptitude

•Intermediate to Advanced electrical/electronic knowledge

• Basics of Hydraulics and Pneumatics

•PLC a plus

•Ability to use judgment to make safe and production efficient decisions.

•Available if Overtime Required

•Work occasional Saturdays and evenings as needed.

SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE:

•Must wear all required PPE properly.

•Conduct yourself in a safe manner.

•Maintain a clean and safe work area.

•Clean assigned areas of the building or equipment as instructed by your supervisor.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration along with maintenance fluids like oil, grease, and cleaners. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toe work shoes at minimum).

This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.
