Express Employment Professionals is seeking an accomplished and driven Director of Sales with strong experience in heat exchangers or related sales within the oil, gas, energy, and chemical industries. This role demands exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and senior-level client relationship management to achieve significant growth.
Position Overview
The Director of Sales for the Energy Sector will collaborate across departments to drive measurable business outcomes. By implementing effective sales strategies, the director will expand our market presence, strengthen key client relationships, and lead a high-performance sales team. The focus will be on fostering growth across the oil, gas, chemical, and renewable energy markets in the Americas.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute business strategies to grow heat transfer product sales in the Americas.
- Lead and manage a high-performing sales team to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Monitor and evaluate competitor strengths, weaknesses, strategies, and tactics.
- Establish and maintain pricing strategies that align with business goals.
Sales Management
- Identify and penetrate new accounts within the target customer base.
- Build and sustain senior-level customer relationships to drive long-term partnerships.
- Direct sales team activities for target account acquisition and growth.
- Lead CRM engagement, sales funnel management, and accurate forecasting.
- Prepare price quotations and negotiate terms and conditions to secure equitable agreements.
Technical Expertise
- Leverage cost and thermal performance data to recommend tailored solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Provide leadership in aligning technical solutions with client needs.

- Achieve monthly/quarterly sales revenue goals.
- Drive new client acquisition and increase customer retention rates.
- Expand revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and new market penetration.
- Monitor sales cycle length, conversion rates, and team performance metrics.
Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent technical sales experience.
- Minimum 10 years of outside sales experience, with at least 5 years in heat transfer sales.
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and fostering successful client relationships.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively (50%).
- Capacity to meet physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
