Our client is a highly respected engineering company in Austin that is looking to add a Construction Project Engineer to their growing team. The person in this position will be managing the pre-construction and construction phases of a wastewater treatment plant. This is a FT, Direct Hire position at an outstanding company with generous compensation, benefit, bonus/401K, and PTO programs. More details about the position are below.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Review construction documents and provide comments and resolutions to potential conflicts; assist in generation of takeoffs, estimates, bidding packages and construction plan schedule
- Identify and resolve conflicts between project and utility infrastructure
- Review vendor submittals to make sure they meet requirements of contract documents; identify any deviations and work to get them resolved
- Review engineering change orders to assess validity and effect on time and materials changes; Assist in maintaining project schedule through linking of shop drawings to construction schedule
- Manage and maintain accuracy of construction documents including RFI’s, ECO’s, submittals and related materials
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field plus at least 3 years field construction experience; non-degreed candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
- Experience in heavy civil construction engineering is required, work with water / wastewater treatment infrastructure is preferred
- Experience in generation and management of all types of construction documents; as well as knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and techniques
- Ability to communicate well and work effectively as part of a larger team; willing and able to provide effective summaries of project status to interested parties
- Comfortable using MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as construction scheduling software (Procore, Primavera, etc.)
