Architectural Metal Finisher
Our client in Austin is a specialty manufacturing company with significant growth potential that is looking to add a Metal Finisher to their team. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with 5+ years of progressive architectural finishing/polishing experience This is a full-time, onsite position with ample room for learning, development and professional growth for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to work hard, adapt and learn the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication.
METAL FINISHER JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Ability to work on Stainless Steel and provide a #8, #4 and various specified finishes on all metals
- Ability to work on Aluminum to accomplish Brush (Satin), Polish and any other finish
- Review blueprints and product requirements against in-progress and finished metal components (steel, stainless and aluminum)
- Ability to grind, polish, paint and use Bondo Products
- Use hand tools and abrasives to polish metal surfaces to remove scratches, dents, and defects to specifications
- Use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify components by taking exact physical measurements and comparing to blueprints
METAL FINISHER JOB REQUIRMENTS:
- 5+ years of architectural metal finishing & polishing experience
- Ability to read, understand, and verify blueprint drawing/machining requirements
- Knowledge of machining various metals including stainless steel, steel, aluminum, along with understanding of finishing/polishing expectations in architectural applications
- Ability to use inspection tools- micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc. to verify dimensional accuracy against drawings
- Forklift certification experience a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Hours: 6:00AM - 4:30PM M-TH (Plus OT on Fridays)
