Packaging/Production Associate
Temporary (Potential for Permanent Placement)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging/Production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various tasks related to packaging, staging, labeling, and shipping of chemical products. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining inventory, ensuring accurate shipments, and adhering to safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Freight Handling: Pull, stage, label, band, and palletize freight as required.
- Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift to move drums, maintain stock, rotate inventory, and load carriers with prepared freight.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and complete appropriate forms, logs, and data entries in the computer system. Ensure proper labeling of containers.
- Shipping Coordination: Maintain contact with internal departments and carriers to ensure prompt, accurate shipments. Resolve any discrepancies with bills of lading (BOL) and rectify any cancellations or expedite shipments.
- Chemical Packaging: Package chemical products using pumps, hoses, and banjo valves.
- Safety Compliance: Proper PPE and Follow appropriate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and policies, including the identification and proper handling of hazardous waste.
- Technical and Analytical Skills: Utilize technical and analytical skills to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership to achieve production goals.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Required to sit, walk, stand, climb stairs, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Sensory: Ability to talk, hear, and smell.
- Manual Dexterity: Constantly use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
Steel-toed boots are required for safety.
