We have a client searching for a shipping/receiving associate in an industrial fabrication shop. Forklift experience is a must!
Responsibilities:

Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect received goods for damages and report discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Utilize forklift to move and organize received materials in the designated storage areas.

Shipping:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and labeling them accurately.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks using a forklift, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure stacking.

Forklift Operation:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, and load/unload materials as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift and moving materials.

Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in periodic physical inventory counts.
- Monitor and report low stock levels to the supervisor to facilitate timely reordering.

Documentation:
- Complete and maintain shipping and receiving records, including tracking numbers, shipping manifests, and delivery confirmations.
- Generate and update shipping and receiving reports as required.

Quality Control:
- Ensure that all outgoing shipments meet quality standards and comply with shipping regulations.
- Report and address any quality issues promptly.

Communication:
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, suppliers, and carriers to coordinate shipments and resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet overall organizational goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a shipping/receiving associate with forklift operation.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling regulations.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications for record-keeping.
