Shift: M-F 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Pay: $20/hour
The fiber inside metal tube (FIMT) Operator is responsible for physically operating a (FIMT) production line in a way that ensures all products are produced free from cosmetic and physical defects and are within manufacturing tolerances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor operating parameters of the equipment.
- Make necessary adjustments on a production line to ensure the highest quality product.
- Ensure fibers are marked as specified in the Quality Manual.
- Carry out quality control of incoming materials.
- Ensure product dimensions are within tolerance including outer diameter, welded seam quality, external fiber length, product length, and overall appearance.
- Inform Supervisor or Lead of any changes in parameters of product.
- Perform SDR and size changes including the setup and changeover of production lines with Supervisor or Lead.
- Perform and maintain regular inventory counts.
- Stack and / or bundle finished products.
- Identify and eliminate the causes of deterioration in product quality, a decrease in the productivity of lines, malfunctions in the operation of their mechanisms, and excess consumption of materials.
- Ensure the fulfillment of the production plan and shift assignments of the established production standards, while maintaining the quality of the products.
- Control the parameters of the technological regime with the help of instrumentation and automation.
- Strictly carry out shift tasks, following the instructions of "Technological Manuals" and "Shop orders" for products, marking each completed operation with your signature.
- Prepare serviced equipment for repair delivery and receive it from repair.
- Immediately report to the immediate supervisor any deviation that occurred at work, and about any situation that poses a threat to the life and health of people.
- Maintain a working environment free of unnecessary equipment and materials.
- Responsible for moving and organizing finished products within designated buildings.
- Regular attendance and compliance with all Company policies and rules is an essential function for the job.
- Comply with, support, and promote all company’s safety policies.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the immediate Supervisor and Team Lead.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED, with 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in wire and cable.
- Preferably 1-3 years of forklift operation experience.
- Basic literacy with computers and electronic devices; including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and various other digital formats and editing tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping, pushing, hitting, and pulling.
- Required regularly to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to occasionally climb or balance; and talk or hear.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds unassisted for extended durations as needed.
- Visual acuity to read manuals, operate machines, and inspect parts.
- Able to work in a loud environment subject to machine and tool noise.
- Able to work with hand tools for unpacking and breaking down pallets.
- Ability to work most of the time indoors in a hot, dusty, and noisy warehouse environment.
- Ability to work some of the time outdoors in any weather condition.
