Temp to Hire - Quality Inspector Needed - Full time 

Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Department: Quality 
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Summary: 
Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to 
determine and maintain quality and reliability of product to ensure compliance with contract specifications by 
performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Interprets visual and documented standards such as engineering drawings, schematic drawings, blueprints, and sample. 
Confers with management or staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Ensures parts conform during all 
phases of the manufacturing process. 
- Selects product for tests at specified stages in the production process. Inspects and tests product to determine 
compliance with order specifications, such as dimensions, performance, tolerance, and mechanical characteristics. 
Reviews deviations and investigates for acceptability.
- Completes first article inspection (in quality inspection or production area) using appropriate inspection and quality 
control tests and completes appropriate paperwork and enters data into computer.
- Performs random quality control tests during production. Stops production during any phase of manufacturing if found 
to be nonconforming.
- Completes final inspection. Complete appropriate paperwork by recording test data in computer. 
- Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Enters appropriate 
inspection results into computer or process control charts. 
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of 
equipment capability. 
- Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, 
life or material characteristics. 
- Marks approval or rejection of product.
Other Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
- May examine company's prior records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality 
tests.
- Transports boxes and baskets of parts into inspection area as needed. 
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized.
- Responsible for working in a safe manner using required safety equipment.
- Follows established policy, rules, regulations and procedures regarding safety, housekeeping and cost control. Wears 
required safety equipment at all times.
- Participates in quality training and the quality process. Adheres to Company's quality requirements.
- Cleans tools as needed.
- Files reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully:

Education and/or Experience: 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to eighteen months related experience, manufacturing 
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: 
Basic computer knowledge/proficiency. Prior use of Excel and/or Word software helpful. Keyboarding 25 wpm. 
Knowledge of or prior use of quality software programs (such as Quattro Pro, SQC Pack, UTM Pack, and/or Spring Design) 
helpful.
Other Skills and Abilities: 
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple 
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees 
of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts 
of basic geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
Other Qualifications: 
- Knowledge of or ability to learn to use tools such as micrometer, calipers, spring tester and optical comparator.
- Ability to meet deadlines but be thorough and accurate.
- Ability work with little supervision/independently but still be a member of a team.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.

occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job 
include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to detect the odor of smoke.
- On an occasional basis lifts up to 35 pounds, 0-36 inch height range. (Note: Lifting load may be broken down.)
- Bends up to 12 inches above ground handling loads of five pounds or less.
- Reaches with one arm up to 69 inches above ground with loads up to four pounds.
- Handles and manipulates small parts and testing equipment controls on frequent to constant basis.
