Job Full Description
Express Employment is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Manager for a local warehouse here in the Oak Cliff area.
Job Duties:
Warehouse operations
Overseeing daily warehouse operations, including organizing products, scheduling workers, shipping and receiving inventory; and performing or verifying inventory counts
Shipments
Managing incoming and outgoing shipments, including coordinating their placement and ensuring they arrive on time. Inspecting completed orders.
Documentation
Managing all shipment-related documentation, including keeping detailed records.
Personnel
Supervise and train personnel, such as shipping and receiving clerks, forklift drivers and crane operators, who are involved in the daily movement of products.
Inventory
Has direct responsibility for inventory accuracy. Conduct or supervise cycle counts and month end or year-end inventory as requested.
Quality control
Working with the quality control department to ensure procedures are followed and recorded.
Communication
Collaborating with and communicating with other people involved in the shipment and receipt of products, such as freight companies, logistics personnel, customer service representatives, and service providers.
Hiring and training
Hiring, training, and scheduling staff to do the hands-on work.
Safety
Ensuring a safe work environment, enforcing safety protocols, and wearing and using safety equipment properly.
Leadership
Delegating tasks to staff, and leading employees in company rules, regulations, and policies. Implementing cost-reduction initiatives in shipping and receiving processes
Other responsibilities
Making recommendations to management on new products or ways to cut spending, inspecting tools and trucks for maintenance issues, and handling customer service inquiries.
· Must obtain working knowledge of all products within 90 days of job entry date.
· Computers
· Must be proficient in inventory software systems, Microsoft office products, and efficient at data entry.
General
· Working Safely and report any unsafe conditions.
· Arrive at work on time as scheduled.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
· Standard work week 40-50 hours.
Job Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent, but an associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
· Proven experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse management.
· Understanding of compliance regulations and safety procedures in warehouse settings.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
· Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents.
· Hands-on experience with shipping and distribution software.
· Budgeting and reporting experience.
· Good leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
· Forklift experience preferred but not required.
· Manage time efficiently.
· 6 months of shipping/receiving logistics, or production management experience.
· Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date.
Pay: Up to $64K annual salary
