General Overview

Under general supervision performs daily warehouse tasks to include shipping of products both domestically and internationally to ensure quality, on-time deliveries. Receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, material, or tools, and compiling records in stockroom, warehouse, by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Packaging products in an efficient and orderly manner in accordance with all shipping procedures, packing slips, order acknowledgements, and customer requirements to meet delivery schedule and maintain product quality.
  • Accurately completes all necessary documentation in accordance with established procedures for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate with transportation companies to ship products and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Enters shipping information into carrier automated system to produce shipping labels and tracking information.
  • Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices and examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Accepts items into stock or releases items out of stock and records transactions using an ERP system.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, or other labeling equipment.
  • Performs kit pulls and/or fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Cuts stock to size to fill order.  May move, transport or distribute stock or supplies to other department and/or among production workers.
  • Tracks and verifies accuracy of inventory, counts and location, by physically counting and identifying inventory within specific locations.
  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
  • Participates in periodic cycle counts and/or physical inventories and maintains inventory records.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations and good housekeeping practices.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Ability to operate forklift and other lift equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and spend the majority of the shift on your feet.
  • Aids other stockroom or warehouse team members as needed and participates in cross training efforts.
  • Must have a valid driver license and good driving record to be able to drive company vehicle as needed if converted to a regular Teledyne employee.
  • May support assembly operations as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                  

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may involve providing training/sharing knowledge to all levels of manufacturing/warehouse personnel.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or GED and 2-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prior shipping experience preferred; international shipping is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite required (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Prior ERP experience preferred (IFS a plus)
  • Forklift certified preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess "U.S. Person" status for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data. (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a US Citizen by birth or Naturalization, a lawful permanent resident “Green Card holder” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a ”Protected Individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)
