$19.00 PER HOUR

Due to the nature of the work performed at the facility, all applicants must hold "US Person" status. POSITION SUMMARY

Runs Wire & Cable machines such as extruders, braiders, stripers, bunchers, planetary, re-spoolers, and twinners by performing the following duties.  2pm to 10:45pm.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set-up and operation of machines in accordance to build instruction and safety protocols.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Pushes button or switch to activate machine once set up is complete and verified.
  • Observes machine operation to detect machine malfunction and monitor cable quality.
  • Trouble shooting process problems.  
  • Willing to receive and provide cross-training in all operations.

  • Ability to review and comprehend documentation, processes and/or product with high level of detail
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.    
  • Familiarity with measuring tools; micrometer, caliper, measuring tape etc.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality
  • Is consistently at work and on time and arrives at meetings and appointments on time
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to extended Treat co-workers and management team with respect

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regularly exposed to humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.  
  • Personal Protective Equipment: - Use of safety glasses when in Manufacturing and Test areas Safety Toe Shoes required.  
  • Must be able to lift the reels of cable on a regular basis.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to grip and feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability adjust focus.
