Cylindrical Grinder
Temp to hire
$20 hr. base on experience
This manual machinist position will be responsible for manually operating machines and producing complex production and prototype parts to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate and timely manner.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Able to ground round parts or shafts!
- Able to ground shafts with a tolerance of plus or minus .0005"!!
- Experience working with the Cincinnati Cylindrical Grinder!!
- Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
- Able to operate lathes, cylindrical grinders, and HBM from set up to job completion.
- Experience with or capacity to learn thread rolling.
- Capable of reading and understanding: outside and inside micrometers, vernier calipers, height and depth gauges.
- Studies blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
- Selects appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work.
- Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Capable of aligning/securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
- Fabricates and manufactures various parts using drawings or sample parts.
- Able to perform quality control on work by measuring, examining and testing completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Mechanic work on various reciprocating compressor components.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of reciprocating compressor components: packing cases, valves, piston and rods, etc.
- Able to trouble-shoot problems with reciprocating compressor associated with packing cases, valves, piston and rods, etc.
- Strong analytical and communication skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily tasks.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
2 years machining experience
