Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the outgoing shipment of products, ensuring all orders are processed accurately and delivered on time. The Shipping Clerk will also update inventory records, generate shipping labels, and act as the primary point of contact for outgoing logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package orders for shipment based on customer and company requirements.
- Verify order accuracy by cross-checking product details, quantities, and shipping addresses.
- Generate shipping labels and arrange for transportation.
- Maintain and update shipping logs, tracking numbers, and inventory records.
- Inspect items for quality and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Handle returns and exchanges, ensuring proper documentation and restocking.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety procedures.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve shipping-related concerns.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing and organizing shipping documents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in accounts payable, receivable, payroll, shipping, warehouse, and/or logistics role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using shipping software, computers, and basic office equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages, sometimes up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in challenging situations.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with potential for overtime during peak seasons.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending on the environment.
