Job Full Description
This Material Handler position is for a Steel Tank Manufacturer in Rosenberg. The Material Handler inspects received items. They must utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks within the storage facility. The Material Handler records flow information of materials and products, provides cycle counts and ensures the inventory accuracy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Loading and unloading of materials within the warehouse and storage facility
• Inspection of material being received
• Entering product non-conformances into QCBD
• Conducting cycle counts • Ensure all material issues are assigned and completed correctly
• Put the material away
• Bring the material to the different department as needed
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock
• Prepares finished stock for shipment
• Housekeeping
• Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Knowledge on how to use measurement tape inch, fractions.
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
• Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job
• 1-2 years of forklift and related experience
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills and awareness of all health and safety protocols
• Manages time effectively
• Is able to multi-task effectively, attention to detail
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and smart devices
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors 80% of the time (shaded area and rain coats provided when needed
PPE REQUIRED:
• Hearing Protection (will be provided by company)
• Gloves (will be provided by company)
• Steel toe boots
• Face Shields and eye protection (will be provided by company)
