Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent route planning skills, and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including tankers and roll-off trucks.
Duties:
- Safely operate any commercial vehicle, including trucks with manual transmission.
- Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to deliver goods on time while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Assist in the training of new drivers for best practices on truck driving and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (tanker endorsement is a plus).
- Proven experience in truck driving or route driving with a strong understanding of freight logistics.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other loading equipment safely.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to transportation and freight handling.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean driving record and passing all required background checks.
