LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
Lufkin, TX | Monday through Friday | 6AM to 3PM | $20-$24/HR
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for maintenance, equipment repair, regulatory requirements, safety and sanitation requirements. Maintains plant preventative maintenance programs. Works on projects involving installation, modification, or renovation of past building and equipment. Follows efforts to upgrade facility for efficiency, safety and reliability in team-oriented environment.
• Works on equipment repairs and preventative maintenance activities of electronics and shop mechanics on specific shift.
• Completes projects and repairs to the manufacturing equipment within the plant maximizing production outputs and product quality
• Ensure that assigned maintenance functions are performed in accordance with GMP, OSHA, local codes, corporate guidelines, and the plant procedures; participate in and support the plant safety program.
• All maintenance employees are to have the required level of safety training to include lock out/tag out. All equipment and installations are to be maintained with safety guards & proper devices. All employees are required to use the appropriate PPE.
• Report equipment conditions to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Incorporates RedZone into daily practices
Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong communication skills, team oriented, and the ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics
• Basic understanding of instrumentation (temperature controls, SCADA)
• Ability to accurately troubleshoot electrical failures
• Basic installation of electrical equipment (conduit running, wire pulling, and terminations)
• Basic knowledge of electrical components, parts, tools, etc.
• Assist in planning, designing, and installing electrical power and controls for a wide variety of equipment.
• Experience with VFDs and redundant safety circuits
• Motor replacement (mechanical installation and wiring)
• Knowledge of basic motor control/relay logic.
• Multitasking and job prioritization is a must
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 2-3 years electrical experience required, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment
• Must have a strong electrical background in high-speed packaging equipment and/or continuous process systems, including experience with PLC’s and process controls.
• Involvement in continuous improvement or other specialized teams preferred.
• Must be able to walk or stand for at least a period of 10 hours, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to operate designated equipment assigned to the Maintenance Department including forklift, ladder, and scissor lift.
• Follow safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
• Work cohesively with maintenance team members to accomplish goals.
