Job Full Description
Daily
- Collect finished product samples at least twice per shift and perform net weight checks and AQL’s (Allowable Quality Limits).
- Notify Wrapping Room Supervisor and/or Plant Manager of any deficiencies found when performing weight checks and AQL checks.
- Collect one finished sample from each production line/shift and place in bag with that day’s lot number on the bag. Place bag in container marked for that month and year.
- Collect a finished sample from each batch of Black Cow, Slow Poke, Coconut Long Boy, and Chocolate Long Boys.
- QA will verify temperatures of Black Cow, Slow Poke, Coconut Long Boy, and Chocolate Long Boys at least twice per shift when cookers are running.
- Check all incoming containers from Guatemala against retain samples in lab.
- Check all incoming ingredients. Retain Samples will be collected and stored in refrigerator located in the lab
- QA Tech will verify pH and Brix Testing on all incoming sugar and corn syrup. Samples will be collected on all incoming sugar and corn syrup
- Check all incoming bag film and candy wrappers and sample will be placed in notebook located in the lab.
- Collect all paper work from maintenance, wrapping room, kitchen and shipping dock. QA
Supervisor will review paperwork. All paper work is to be filed on a daily basis
- Write work orders for anything that needs to be repaired by maintenance. Take work order to Maintenance Supervisor to sign off on. Collect pink copy and file until maintenance returns finished work order to be filed in notebook in lab.
- Keep QA Hold Tag Log up to date. Notify Shipping Supervisor by e-mail when finished product is placed on hold. Also, notify Wrapping Room Supervisor or Plant Manager when finished product or any other product is placed on QA Hold.
- Keep an open line of communication with Supervisors and Plant Manager via e-mail or verbally. Keep all verbal communications documented in notebook as a reference tool.
- Notify QA Supervisor and Production Supervisors of any food safety issues immediately when observed during the time you spend on the floor.
- Perform daily GMP Audits in Wrapping Room, Kitchen, and Liquid Sugar room. Report any deficiencies to area Supervisor and document corrective actions.
- Weekly
- Pull finished product sample that contains peanuts or peanut butter from production line once per week and send to Outside Lab to be tested for APC, Coliforms, E-Coli, Salmonella, and Yeast & Mold. File results in note book in Lab.
- Calibrate Thermometers once per week and record results in notebook in Lab.
- Perform Monthly Facility audits with a member from production in the area being audited.
Monthly
- Perform monthly locker inspections in Wrapping Room Break room, Maintenance Shop, Break Room, Shipping Dock, and Kitchen Break Room.
- Perform Monthly glass and brittle plastics audit throughout the facility.
- Perform Monthly Tool inspection audits while doing monthly locker inspections and also during production.
- On a random basis pull a raw material sample to send to lab to have it tested against the Suppliers COA. Place results in notebook with Suppliers documents.
- Perform environmental testing once monthly on random production equipment.
- Perform all duties assigned by the QA Supervisor. Help QA Supervisor with typing new documents for audits, help with training production employees during Annual training on Food Safety, HACCP, SQF, Allergens, GMP’s, etc.
- Work weekends when needed.
