Position Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee the company’s accounting, reporting, and financial operations. This role is essential in ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry regulations, enabling sound decision-making and enhancing profitability. The Financial Controller reports to the HQ Manager and works closely with other departments to support cost reduction and sales enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
- Supervise audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance versus budget, providing insights to support strategic goals.
- Evaluate monthly variances and adjust forecasts as needed to meet budget goals.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes.
- Implement internal controls to protect the company’s financial assets and maintain financial accuracy.
Cost Management:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to enhance profitability through effective cost management strategies.
- Lead initiatives to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and optimize resource allocation.
Cash Flow and Financial Analysis:
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to meet operational needs.
- Conduct financial analyses and provide recommendations for financial strategies to senior management.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing insights on profitability, cost structures, and financial trends.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of integrity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to support professional development and encourage a high-performance culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify growth opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial management role, ideally within the automotive or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Leadership skills with a track record of building and leading effective teams.
