Job Full Description
The primary purpose of the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager is to ensure the organization's compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, while also fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. This role aims to protect the well-being of employees, prevent accidents and environmental incidents, and contribute to sustainable practices within the workplace.
· Enforce emergency response procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
· Develop and implement safety and environmental policies and procedures.
· Create and manage safety training programs for employees.
· Identify potential safety and environmental hazards and assess associated risks.
· Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents.
· Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
· Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.
· Provide education and training to employees on safety and environmental issues.
· Collect, analyze, and report on safety and environmental performance metrics.
· Present findings to senior management and regulatory agencies.
· Ensure that suppliers and contractors meet safety and environmental standards.
· Review and approve safety plans for contractors working on-site.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios.
· Conduct drills and training exercises to prepare employees for emergencies.
· Implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint.
· Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
· Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify compliance issues.
· Stay informed about emerging safety and environmental trends and best practices.
· Advocate for policy changes or improvements to enhance workplace safety and sustainability.
· Maintain accurate records of safety and environmental incidents, inspections, and training.
· Supervise and support safety and environmental personnel if applicable.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to achieve safety and environmental objectives.
· Manage the HSE department's budget effectively.
· Allocate resources to meet safety and environmental goals efficiently.
· Identify opportunities for improving safety and environmental performance.
· Implement strategies for ongoing enhancement.
· Collaborate with employees, management, and regulatory bodies.
· Effectively communicate safety and environmental expectations and updates.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 5-7 years of relevant experience REQUIRED.
