Job Title: BOP Technician

Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is on the lookout for an experienced and driven BOP Technician to join our team in Midland, TX. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of blowout preventer (BOP) systems, with a strong dedication to safety and efficiency in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on BOP equipment to ensure peak performance and adherence to industry regulations.
- Perform routine testing and troubleshooting of BOP systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Work collaboratively with field personnel and engineers to establish maintenance schedules and enhance equipment reliability.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs on BOP equipment.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in creating training materials and participate in training sessions for new hires.
- Ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained and properly organized.
- Promptly report any discrepancies or required repairs to management.
- Engage in incident investigations and help implement corrective measures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience as a BOP Technician or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of BOP systems, components, and operational principles.
- Capability to perform mechanical repairs and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of industry safety standards and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including on-call duties and overtime when necessary.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving history.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions and perform tasks at height or in confined spaces.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
