A Custodian, also known as a Janitor or Cleaner, is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of buildings and facilities. Their primary duties include cleaning and sanitizing spaces, handling waste disposal, and ensuring a hygienic and well-maintained environment for employees, visitors, and other occupants.
Job Description for a Custodian:
Primary Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring all supplies (e.g., soap, toilet paper) are stocked.
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.
- Dust and wipe down furniture, windowsills, and other surfaces.
- Clean windows and mirrors.
- Sanitize high-touch areas, such as doorknobs and light switches.

- Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly.
- Restock supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap).

- Clean carpets by vacuuming, spot cleaning, or using carpet shampoo equipment.
