A respected manufacturing company in Georgetown, TX is seeking qualified Heavy Equipment Assemblers to help keep up with high production schedule. Strong candidates will have a background in manufacturing heavy equipment, operating power and hand tools and an in-depth knowledge of hydraulics. Qualified applicants will have hydraulic experience and need to be mechanically inclined.
Job Duties:
· Ability to read and interpret instructions from assembly drawings
· Inspect parts for adherence to specifications
· Perform minor assembly as necessary to apply primer, topcoat paint and any spray-applied coatings
· Move parts to be painted in and out of paint booth
· Compute mixture ratios in order to mix paint materials
· Select and mix coating liquid to produce required color
· Ensure technical specifications and quality standards are met at all levels
· Complete all required paperwork
· Operate Class B forklifts
· Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices
· Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
· Team player skills required
· Be a lean culture advocate through waste elimination, continuous improvement and customer focused quality
· Order paint and paint supplies.
· Investigate and test new types of paint, supplies and make recommendations for purchase
· Assist in preparing bids for sub-contract painting work
Education/Experience Required:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· 4+ years of painting experience
· Minimum 6 months experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment, spray painting vehicle components and completed units using industrial coatings such as epoxy primers and polyurethane topcoats in industrial type equipment and conventional air spray equipment
· Must be able to identify corrosion and determine appropriate removal process
· Understand principals of painting equipment and be able to clean/maintain such equipment
· Experience in metal preparation including cleaning, sanding and bead blasting
