Job Full Description
Our client, a well-established construction company in Northeast San Antonio is looking for a Structural Welder for a long term, temp to hire opportunity in a friendly, team-oriented environment. Pay starts at $18 an hour depending on experience. Duties for the Structural Welder position include:
- Fabrication and Assembly: Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Reading Blueprints and Shop Drawings
- Set up components and material requirements for welding & fabrication according to specifications

Utilize tools and machinery to cut and shape steel components as required.

Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and make necessary adjustments.

Weld components using manual welding equipment

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any maintenance issues promptly.
Requirements for the Structural Welder position are:
- Must pass welding test prior to placement.
- Must have own hood, gloves, PPE
- Valid Driver's License (required for permanent hire)
- Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds. Able to stand, squat, bend, pull
- Several years of experience in structural steel fitting and welding.
- Drug Testing: Willingness to submit to random drug tests as required.
- Familiarity with traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and safe loading/unloading practices.

This is a long-term opportunity. Hours for the Mig Welder position are 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday (30 min lunch). There is overtime which would be 6am-430p and some Saturdays.
