Job Full Description
As a Customer Service Representative for sales tax refunds, you will be responsible for providing assistance and guidance to international shoppers seeking to receive sales tax refund on eligible purchases made during their trips to Texas. You will act as a liaison between customers, retailers, and the company''s tax refund processing system.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance:
Provide information and guidance to international shoppers on the sales tax refund process.
Assist customers in completing the necessary tax refund paperwork. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
Document Verification:
Review and verify customer documents such as sales receipts, passport and travel information. Ensure all required documents are correctly filled out and meet the local tax authority''s regulations.
Tax Refund Processing:
Process sales tax refund by entering required data in company’s software and generating customer invoice for refund payment by company cashier.
Communication:
Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex customer cases.
Compliance:
Stay informed about local and international tax laws and regulations related to tax refunds for tourists and shoppers. Ensure the company''s processes adhere to all legal requirements.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and refund applications.
Prepare reports on the status of refund applications and customer feedback.
Customer Education:
Educate customers on the eligibility criteria for tax refunds, purchase thresholds, and any relevant rules and restrictions.
Problem Solving:
Identify and address issues or discrepancies in customer documentation and applications.
Work to resolve customer complaints and concerns effectively.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
Previous customer service experience, preferably in a similar role.
Familiarity with tax refund processes and international shopping tax regulations is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
Multilingual skills may be advantageous, especially if working in a tourist-heavy location.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferable.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 11am-7pm
Saturdays 11am-7pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 depending on experience
Working Conditions:
Customer Service Representatives for tax refunds may work in an office setting at tourist areas such as The Shops at La Cantera Mall. The role may require irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate international travelers'' schedules.
