Express Employment Professionals is working with a local Client to fill the position as a Scrap Metal Buyer. This will be an evaluation to hire.
Job Title: Scrap Metal Buyer
Job Description:
The Scrap Metal Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing scrap metal from a variety of sources, including individuals, businesses, and industrial facilities. This role involves evaluating the quality and type of scrap, determining prices, and directing customers where to go to unload their material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and purchase scrap metal from suppliers, including individuals and businesses.
- Evaluate and sort various types of scrap metal to ensure quality and adherence to recycling standards.
- Assist with the dismantling, processing, sorting, and lifting of scrap metal as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Provide excellent customer service, building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols in the work environment.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Saturday: 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
Work Environment:
- Both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust, metal products, and industrial materials.
Qualifications:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle scrap metal safely.
- Basic knowledge of different types of metals and their recycling values is definitely a plus but not necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills.
This position requires a hands-on, customer-focused individual who can work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
