Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Civil CAD Technician to assist with a variety of tasks related to civil engineering and land surveying. The ideal candidate will have experience in using AutoCAD Civil 3D, be proficient in mathematical calculations, and possess a strong understanding of CAD standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plot legal descriptions for parcels, easements, and right-of-ways.
Import survey data into Civil 3D software.
Produce boundary, topographical, ALTA, and As-built surveys.
Generate stake-out coordinates and plot information for field crews.
Utilize AutoCAD proficiently in daily assignments.
Perform basic mathematical calculations, such as pipe slopes, areas, and volumes.
Detail and develop construction plans based on raw information from designers.
Adhere to CAD standards and operating procedures, ensuring uniformity in work products.
Review and check plans for accuracy.
Use station offset methods to set points.
Estimate manhours required for CAD projects.
Process engineering calculations using secondary software with minimal supervision.
Produce site plans and utility layouts with minimal supervision from designers.
Process existing and proposed profiles, including grade and utilities.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional full-time CADD experience in a similar industry. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is desirable.
Skills Required:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Effective communication skills for presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions with commonsense understanding.
Problem-solving skills using industry-standard tools and techniques.
