Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Type: Full Time - Temp to Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45AM to 4:30PM
Pay: $17.00/hr - $18.00
Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk with experience in the pipe industry to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient handling of materials, particularly pipes, within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipping/receiving procedures and be familiar with pipe inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the receipt and shipment of pipe products and related materials.

Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing packing lists, purchase orders, and other documentation.

Inspect pipes and other materials for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.

Coordinate with the warehouse team to organize and store pipe products according to size, type, and specifications.

Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts using warehouse management systems.

Prepare and label shipping documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and packing slips.

Ensure all items are shipped safely and in a timely manner, meeting company deadlines and customer expectations.

Assist with inventory control, including tracking pipe quantities, and maintaining accurate stock levels.

Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to load/unload shipments.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper handling and storage of pipe materials.
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience in shipping and receiving, with a focus on the pipe or construction materials industry preferred.

Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping documentation.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehouse management or logistics are a plus.
