Project Manager 

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team in a vessel fabrication shop. This role will involve overseeing all aspects of project execution, ensuring that the fabrication process runs smoothly and efficiently, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills, proficiency in MS Office Suites, Excel and a strong ability to communicate effectively with clients via email. Familiarity with pipe fabrication, fittings, and vessel production processes is essential. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met, resources are allocated effectively, and the fabrication process stays on track.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Communicate project progress, delays, and other key updates via email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fabrication teams, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate the procurement of materials (pipes, fittings, etc.), equipment, and personnel to ensure that all project needs are met.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Monitor the fabrication process to ensure that all work complies with industry standards and meets client specifications.
  • Cost Control: Track project costs, assist with budget management, and ensure projects stay within the financial parameters set by the client.
  • Safety Oversight: Enforce safety procedures in the shop, ensuring that all team members adhere to the required safety protocols. Wear required PPE including steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
  • Customer Relations: Deal directly with customers to address their concerns, clarify requirements, and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Occasional Weekend Work: Be available for occasional weekend work depending on project requirements or deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and stay on top of schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Must be highly skilled in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and other MS Office applications for reporting, data management, and communication.
  • Effective Communication: Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly, especially via email with clients and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Bilingual (Preferred): Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a plus, as you will be interacting with a diverse client base.
    • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with vessel fabrication, including knowledge of pipes, fittings, and common fabrication processes is preferred.
    • Safety Conscious: Must wear steel-toe shoes and safety glasses in the shop. Comfort with working in a dusty, loud, and busy environment is required.
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor and track project progress, budgets, schedules, and quality to ensure everything meets the required standards.

    Work Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    • Occasional weekend work may be required based on project needs.

    Physical Demands:

    • Working in a busy fabrication shop environment, which is dusty, loud, and fast-paced.
    • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
