Member Services Representative  

Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and courteous Member Services Representative to join our team at our local credit union. This front-line position is responsible for providing exceptional service to members by assisting with account openings, answering questions, resolving issues, and offering guidance in a manner that aligns with our high standards of customer care. The role also includes providing backup support to the teller area as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Account Management: Open and close all types of credit union accounts, including savings, checking, and business accounts.  
Customer Service: Provide prompt and accurate assistance to members by answering questions regarding account types, services, and policies in a professional and friendly manner.  
Problem Resolution: Address member concerns and resolve issues in a calm and efficient manner, ensuring member satisfaction.  
Transaction Assistance: Support members with various transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and inquiries about account balances.  
Teller Backup: Serve as backup support in the teller area, assisting with transactions and ensuring smooth operations in the absence of the teller.  
Product Promotion: Educate members about additional credit union products and services that may benefit them, such as loans, credit cards, or savings options.  
Member Relationship Building: Build strong, positive relationships with members, fostering trust and loyalty.  
Compliance: Ensure all account openings and transactions comply with credit union policies and federal regulations.  

Qualifications:  
Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a financial institution or credit union.  
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with members.  
Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and diplomacy.  
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.  
Proficient in computer systems and technology, able to learn new software quickly.  
High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in finance or business is a plus.  
Must pass a background check and be able to maintain confidentiality.
