Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic – Cabinet Shop
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a busy cabinet shop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC routers, CNC edgebanders, and general woodworking machinery. This role requires a strong troubleshooting ability, particularly with electrical systems, to ensure all equipment runs efficiently and without interruption. The candidate should also possess a good understanding of woodworking processes and be able to perform maintenance, repairs, and machine setup with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring high-quality production.
Hours are Monday-Friday 6a-2:30p, pay is $18-$25/hr depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on CNC routers, CNC edgebanders, saws, drills, and other machinery in the shop to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production machinery. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, motors, and sensors is a key requirement.

Machine Setup & Calibration: Set up and calibrate CNC machinery, ensuring precision and quality in wood processing. Adjust machine settings based on product specifications and production needs.

Troubleshoot and Resolve Electrical Issues: Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and troubleshooting electrical faults is highly preferred. Perform electrical repairs, including rewiring, component replacement, and fault diagnosis.

Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with operators and production staff to resolve technical issues quickly, minimize downtime, and improve equipment efficiency.

Parts & Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining a parts inventory, ordering parts and supplies as necessary to support machine maintenance and repair needs.
Qualifications:

Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a woodworking, cabinet, or manufacturing environment.

Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical skills with a working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, drives, and control systems used in CNC machines and other production equipment.

Woodworking Machinery: Experience working with CNC routers, CNC edgebanders, saws, drills, and other woodworking machinery is highly desirable. Familiarity with woodworking processes and production workflows is a plus.

Electrical Skills: Basic understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting methods. Ability to work with electrical components, including motors, sensors, relays, and wiring.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot issues effectively, both independently and as part of a team.

Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, particularly when it comes to machine calibration and diagnosing mechanical/electrical problems.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on repair work in a fast-paced environment.

Safety-Oriented: Knowledge of and commitment to following safety protocols and procedures in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance are a plus.
- Woodworking Knowledge: Previous experience in woodworking or a cabinet manufacturing environment.
