Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job Type: Full Time Salaried Position (30 hours per week)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team.
This role is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Verification:
- Accept and document incoming shipments, ensuring all items are inspected for damage and verified against purchase orders.
- Log received products into the inventory system, confirming product location, quantity, and lot number.
- Ensure packing slips match the order details (PO/SO numbers, prices, part numbers, lot numbers).
- Forward invoices to the appropriate person for entry.
Storing & Organizing Inventory:
- Sort, label, and store items in proper locations, ensuring they are organized sequentially.
- Create new labels for overflow inventory and adjust storage as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean inventory and storage area.
Shipping & Preparation:
- Prepare items for shipment by reviewing contents, delivery methods, and packaging requirements.
- Package and label outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are properly documented and shipped according to customer requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of international orders and related documentation.
Tracking & Communication:
- Track shipments and provide customers with tracking information, including updates on partial or complete shipments.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels meet company needs.
- Track blanket orders and review customer orders regularly to ensure timely fulfillment.
Purchase Order Management:
- Track open vendor and customer POs, request expedited shipping if necessary, and communicate updates with customers.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with daily administrative tasks, including processing purchase orders and customer consignments.
- Run and distribute sales reports, process payments, and manage vendor POs and acknowledgments in the system.
- Provide backup support to the Manager during time off.
Additional Duties:
- Perform weekly inventory audits and document any discrepancies.
- Assist with general office cleaning duties, including inventory and storage areas, and help maintain a clean workspace.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory management.
- Strong organizational skills, data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with inventory management systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Hours:
- Standard office hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
- Full-Time Position, 30 hours per week.
- Unique Pay Structure: Although you may work 25 hours one week, you will be paid for 30 hours. When covering for the Manager, you may work 30 to 35 hours, but you will receive consistent pay, similar to a salaried position. This is not a clock-in/clock-out role.
