Job Full Description
We are now seeking an experienced Machinist in the Salem area. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating both conventional and CNC machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics to ensure high-quality parts are produced to meet production and scheduling needs.
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of machining techniques and methods
- Experience in setting up and operating machines efficiently
- Ability to interpret engineering part drawings and use precision measuring equipment
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow process sheets accurately
- 5 years of machining experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate conventional and numerical control machines to fabricate parts, both metallic and nonmetallic.
- Follow process sheets, engineering part drawings, and process plans to select and install tooling, offsets, and fixtures.
- Perform first piece approval and use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality specifications.
- Report malfunctions or deviations in the machining process to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain high quality of work, including accurate counts and meeting production standards.
- Seek ways to improve manufacturing processes, such as new tooling or combining operations.
- Keep cycle times in check, maintain a clean work area, and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Load work programs, take offsets, and find zero depending on the specific machines used.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of machining experience.
