Job Full Description

Job Summary – The bookkeeper is primarily responsible for the weekly ledgering, entering, and accounting of weekly income and expenses.

Pay - $25.00-$30.00 DOE

Work Schedule – Flexible Hours 5-6 hours a week

Essential Functions:

  • Enter online transactions from the contribution system, summarized by month
  • Enter weekly bank deposits, summarized by donor
  • Prepare and print checks for invoices and check requests
  • Associate credit card transactions with the appropriate donor, department and account.
  • Match bank transactions with the appropriate QB revenue and expense entries
  • Create revenue and expense transactions each month to move funds from the general fund to specific funds, such as Missions, Hospitality, and External Audit
  • Attach the corresponding electronic document to expense transactions
  • Run payroll every other week
  • Learn how to classify income and expense transactions with the appropriate account, “donor” and department
  • Grow in your understanding of fund accounting principles and QuickBooks online
  • Occasional attendance at staff meetings as requested and be a loving/caring member of the staff

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and Basic Bookkeeping, and a willingness to improve skills accordingly
  • Unless otherwise approved by supervisor, work is to be performed on campus
  • Exhibit an attitude of cooperation and mutual respect to other staff
  • Be committed to fostering and working in an environment of trust and teamwork with a goal of excellence
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure, with multiple deadlines
  • Possess the ability to deal with multiple tasks, priorities, objectives, and guidelines
  • Be self-motivated and a self-starter

  • Ability to follow-through and complete work assigned is essential

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions and duties of this job.  The noise level in the office area and in the sanctuary is usually quiet to moderate.
