Express is looking for a Composite Assembly Tech 3 to join our team in Columbia County.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Composites Assembly Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in composite fabrication and assembly, a strong understanding of engineering documentation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and utilize engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and build instructions accurately.
• Perform advanced wet lay-up laminating, vacuum bagging setup and operation, and component de-molding processes.
• Execute advanced adhesive bonding of composite components with precision.
• Prepare, complete, and maintain component and process documentation accurately and on schedule.
• Route, trim, drill, and sand composite parts to meet exact blueprint dimensions and specified tolerances.
• Assemble primary components and conduct post-process add-on component assemblies.
• Conduct thorough surface preparation including sanding, cleaning.
• Carry out in-depth evaluations of fabrication and assembly processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assist in the design and development of shop aids, templates, and tools to streamline fabrication, trimming, and assembly processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Understand and apply the properties and behavior of composite materials in all fabrication and assembly operations.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in composites fabrication, assembly, or a related field.
• Strong technical skills in wet lay-up, bonding, trimming, and surface finishing.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with composite materials, resin systems, and curing methods.
• Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous learning.

Monday- Friday 6:30am- 3pm
