Position: Quality Technician II
Location: Burlington, WA
Schedule: Day Shift
What you get to do:
- Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods.
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into a quality database
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
- Proposing improvements to the production process
- Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet standards
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
- Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
- Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly
- Perform quality controls following the Work Instructions (WI’s) on raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products
- Suggest improvements to the WI’s to reduce scraps and improve the performance of the finished product
- Improve the capacity for in-depth analysis and improvement of the process.
- Continually support the Production staff on WI’s, quality, and process issues in cooperation with Management
- Create statistical analysis and reports on the quality of raw materials and finished products as required.
- Utilize and maintain the supplied instruments of measurement according to WI and safety standards
- Monitor and suggest improvements to Management on the production recipes for the various steps of the process
- Monitor and audit operations, suggesting improvements to the tools of quality control used in the production line
- Manage, maintain, and calibrate the instruments of measurement in the production line and in the QA room
- Produce, in collaboration with the certified laboratories, "Master Modules" as required
- Suggest measures that will improve the traceability of the finished product
- In collaboration with Management, maintain all documentation required for the Quality manual in respecting the ISO standards
- Act as a driving force for continual improvement
What you need to be successful:
- Manufacturing experience in a technical role
- Proven proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and Excel programs, and statistical software packages
- Excellent understanding of problem-solving techniques
