Job Full Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining various machines, including roll formers, polishing lathes, pneumatic presses, and vices to shape, shear, and manipulate metal materials. This position ensures that products are manufactured to the highest quality and engineering standards while following safety and operational protocols.

Essential Functions

  • Operate assigned machines following work instructions to achieve the desired product outcome.
  • Inspect materials to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
  • Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify product accuracy.
  • Set up machines for various job runs and assist in installing and adjusting tools and guides as needed.
  • Use math to calculate measurements and adjustments down to the thousandth decimal place.
  • Track and log job operations and maintain controlled material custody.
  • Provide solutions to production issues and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Train and coach new hires on job responsibilities, safety, and best practices.

Work Environment

  • Well-lit, clean environment with a moderate noise level.

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Fine hand motor manipulation.
  • Use of hand and foot controls.

Required Education and Experience

  • Basic math skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • Minimum of 9 months of Machine Operator I experience for consideration as a Machine Operator II.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Vision (natural or corrected) of 20/30 or better.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks, including compliance with U.S. Export Control Regulations (ITAR).
