Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and efficient Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will screen, authorize, and coordinate medical transportation services for eligible clients. The ideal candidate will deliver prompt, courteous, and professional assistance while working collaboratively with program staff to address complex transportation needs.

 

Pay: $17.88/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday, day shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to transportation service requests via telephone and fax from Medicaid clients and community agencies
  • Determine client eligibility and authorize transportation according to program policies and protocols
  • Match clients with the most appropriate and cost-effective transportation options based on mobility status and personal capabilities
  • Collaborate with senior staff to resolve complex transportation requests, policy exceptions, and client concerns
  • Maintain accurate documentation in computerized database systems
  • Verify scheduled trip details for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete off-phone tasks, assignments, and special projects as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Some college coursework OR one year of relevant call center or customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer proficiency including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to gather information effectively through client interviews
  • Strong customer service orientation with professional, courteous demeanor
  • Sound judgment in applying program rules while maintaining appropriate flexibility
  • Ability to consistently meet call center performance goals
  • Physical requirements: ability to hear and speak clearly on telephone, sit for 8-hour shifts while using computer and phone
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous call center experience
  • Knowledge of community resources for elderly, low-income, and disabled populations
  • Bilingual skills highly desirable
