Specialized Recruiting Group of Walla Walla is searching for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join a local business.
The Accounting Specialist will provide daily accounting support for specified assets within a growing portfolio of vineyard and farm entities. This position encompasses managing cash, reconciling bank accounts, reviewing accounts payable batches, margin analysis and the completion of comprehensive monthly financial statements. The position works closely with the Accounting Manager, providing accounting and general business support. Clear communication and attention to detail are important aspects of this position.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- 1-3+ years experience in all phases of accounting from transaction level through completion of financial statements and understanding cost accounting
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word and Outlook
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
The Accounting Specialist job responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Oversees the Accounts Payable process by reviewing batches for proper approval, coding, and reasonableness prior to payment processing.
- Perform month end closing tasks including recording journal entries, calculating accruals, performing variance analyses, and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare monthly billing statements to clients
- Manages and maintains timely and accurate cash account records at all times. Includes monthly bank reconciliations and forecasting future cash needs as necessary to ensure entities are adequately funded to meet obligations.
- Responsible for fixed asset accounting for assigned entities, including capital vs. expense, WIP tracking, recommending useful lives and depreciation schedules for asset additions.
- Prepares annual Federal Tax Return supporting documentation for all assigned entities.
- Assists with preparation of the annual budget for the entities, as needed.
- Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with team members, coworkers, and management.
