Contract Lab Tech - $25+/Hour BOE
Position Description:
This position is integral to the proper evaluation and compliance of the facility's waste analysis plan. This person will be responsible for performing onsite laboratory and testing procedures. They will determine acceptable waste-streams and work closely with operations to ensure proper processing. We value this position as part of our facility operations team and is accountable for high quality standards and safe working conditions.
Responsibilities:
· Calibrate all laboratory equipment each morning.
· Analyze and record all incoming samples and record results, hard copy and in computer system.
· Analyze and complete bench study (treatability) on certain waste streams.
· Analyze materials received and compare to the profile for compliance.
· Maintain all lab equipment: GC, ICP, F.O.G., pH, and flash testing.
· Evaluate new samples to determine treatability; keep the laboratory clean and orderly.
· Assist with laboratory projects that result in improved cost, quality, efficiency, or other general process improvements.
· Follow SOPs and comply with PPE requirements
Requirements:
· High School Diploma / GED preferred
· 3 year of experience preferred
· MS Suite experience required
· Experience working with non-hazardous and hazardous waste preferred
· Attention-to-detail, proficiency in mathematics up to and including linear algebra, fundamental chemistry concepts
Work Environment:
Laboratory is climate controlled and is supplied with filtered and conditioned air. However, there will be occasions where lab personnel must conduct sampling, monitoring, etc. in the plant. In those cases, candidate should be prepared for:
· Exposure to warm, cold, and/or humid conditions
· Moderate to high noise level (ear protection provided)
· Hard-hat, high-visibility outerwear, and work-toe boots supplied for work in the plant areas.
· Occasions of high dust and particulate (respiratory protection provided)
