Local client looking to add a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by conducting quality audits, performing data collection, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance (QA/QC) practices and the ability to analyze results effectively.
Responsibilities
- To collect samples perform numerous test procedures with accuracy and precision and report results neatly and in a timely manner.
- Understand coding, purchase order numbers, lot numbers.
- Understand sampling procedures and be able to sample incoming raw ingredients and release/reject accordingly.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures within the laboratory environment.
- Understand and follow SQF program elements, GMP’s, SOP’s, HACCP, pest control program and contract customer operating procedures.
- Understand and implement HOLD/COMPLAINT procedure to isolate product or ingredient that deviates from specification.
- Collect, label, pack and ship samples.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent with additional experience in a food manufacturing plant, and or quality control lab.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance (QA/QC) principles and practices.
- Experience with quality audits, data collection, and analysis techniques.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work accurately and precisely.
- Must be willing to take ownership and accept responsibility of QC functions.
- Possess a high degree of personal cleanliness.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings and collaborate with colleagues.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
