Summary
The Maintenance Technician – Level 1 working in conjunction with the maintenance team is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Performs general building maintenance as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Troubleshoot and repair or coordinate repair of broken equipment. Determine root cause of problem, document action to prevent malfunction in the future.
•Install, move, repair or remove equipment within the building.
•Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment.
•Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
•Perform general building maintenance.
•Trains lead and set-up personnel on basic maintenance of machinery to control downtime.
•Report and correct any safety hazards.
•Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
•All other duties and responsibilities as required.
Education and/or Experience
•BS or 2-year technical degree in related field, or 2 years of related experience.
•At least 1 year of experience in maintaining production machinery.
•Prior maintenance experience in a plastic molding company a plus.
•In depth knowledge of mechanic, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls
•Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, gages, and other specifications.
•Ability to work independently.
•Must be safety conscience and a team player.
•Must have strong mechanical and electrical skills.
Language Skills
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and ISO and ASME Codes. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
•Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
